At $26K agreed insurance value, I'd agree. Keep the hawk. The SS should be far easier to sell at $10K-$14K less.

Just noticed the NBM SS Camaro parked next to the Firehawk. What's the story with that one? Interesting to see the mixing of brands here.
ol' BLU, da "Beater"...... :)

short story to above^^^

found the 98SS in KY several years ago, advertised as mint......it WASN'T....it IS a Y2Y rpo code car produced that year, confirmed by D Hamburger and SLP, 1 of 521 with that designation and 1 of 43 NMB ones made, replaced dash pad and cleaned up other issues after purchase, sold the 94Z (tired of opti's) and the 01SS (too nice & low milage for me to mod) before 'new' Camaros released and 4th gen market bottomed out....

had a lil over 90k when purchased, modified after owning about a year with about 100k and have 145k trouble free miles on the clock now....6sp 400+hp DD driven in ways and weather I would NEVER even consider driving the Hawk....

Hawk was purchased from original owner about 4 hours south of us, knowing I would probably sell one day,
enjoy the driving as much or more as the 'competitive' showing, do show BLU but just for pleasure...

Firebrian and 02 red hawk, thanks for your comments, guess I'm just getting older and lazier.....
easier for me to let go of the Hawk than BLU....

hope to get over and work out the details with the guy to replace the Hawk sail panel in a week or 2, weather has been lousy here as it has in other parts of the country, will post back up once the job is done, I want her slick!!!

latest update...

I had made plans with a local guy to begin sail panel replacement today but as some
of you may know we were hit by an ef-3 tornado 2 weeks ago today, he is way behind
with work at the moment as there are many whose needs are currently way more important
than a few minor roof bubbles,

so, I guess we'll load up and trailer over to G-18 next week and try for 5 years in a row as class
winner, may not win it but I'm surely gonna try....will take pics of all areas of the Hawk
while over there sort of vacationing esp. the few I think are
minor issues in my eyes and post them up once we get back home...

just renewed insurance and tag so I guess we're good for another year if necessary....

both door panels had small cracks when I bought,
staples removed from weatherstripping and replaced
with soft wire, reinforced with plastic strips and
glue to prevent further cracking.....
passenger side smoother than drivers...

trailered down to Pensacola over Labor day w/e to help
support a good friends show, the HO Down....
took BLU last year but pulled the HAWK this year to
'expose' it a lil more, there were 4 of us, 1 supercharged
Hawk and 2 other TransAms, lumped us all together which
is ok, got 1st again...
wanted to show curb rash on rim, not terrible but it's there,
a little smaller spot on the the drivers side, previous owner
did it, I pulled all wheels and cleaned and protected when I
first bought it, barrels, etc in great shape other than shown....

Pushing back to the top, had some interest from a couple
of folks the last few weeks but has quieted down,
Just so everyone knows, popped the abs light on backing
off trailer after the Pensacola show, had to replace speed
sensor and the short harness connecting to the body block,
Don't wanna misrepresent anything......
Still listing at $21500... Will listen to serious reasonable
offers, hard to believe it's been up a year now!!! Thanks!

I must be doing something wrong......

saw the 2000 Silver in AL sell within a month, the 2002 white in GA sell within a week a few
weeks ago....both were 6 spd, not A-4, the 02 with lower miles, helluva deal...

maybe because i didn't put OBO after my price... :)

still for sale, asking $21000 OBO but as in earlier post $18k won't
get her....gotta be a happy number in between there somewhere...

bumping back up to the top
text r call 662.397.1429 if more info needed!

thank ya!!!!

I mentioned over a year ago that 28K miles wasn't going to pull $20K, let alone $26K....unless maybe it's SOM. I don't think it will sell for $19K.....not when there are 3K to 10K mile WS6's out there selling for $17K to $19K. Ultra low mileage (<20K) with 1 owners (sometimes 2) are the most in demand. The very low mileage M6's probably fetch an extra $1K-$2K at these levels. That's what most people are looking for. That white GA. car with 10K miles was sweet and easily worth the $20K they probably got for it. Another way to look at it is what would a 40K mile 2002 hawk fetch? Maybe $15K-$17K tops. A 28K mile car is only worth $1200 more. At least this is what I've been seeing in monitoring this market for the past 2-3 years.

Vs. the white M6: 18K more miles (-$1,800) + and an automatic (-$1K) is a $2800 difference. And that doesn't account for the repaired sail panel which might bother some buyers who want a perfect original paint car for their $20K. There are enough of them to choose from out there. It's still a buyer's market for these cars. Just my opinion. I could be totally wrong.

Meet Repeats Encore Performer, aka Petey...a multi-champion and World Grand
Champion stallion in the spotted horse industry with yours truly up...
He is one of several reasons (yeah we have several horses) I wish to sell the Hawk....
my time seems to be getting more and more limited and the ponies are a passion and business...

Firebrian, let's do some horse trading, (tongue in cheek)......for most of you here
he is not worth a 'sack of feed' but he IS insured for more than the car and I have
turned down more for him than the car is insured for...I do understand the variances
in value we all have for things.....

based on your last post my car is valued at $17200 to $18200 i think.....
both the cars we mentioned that sold recently were really nice especially the white GA
car however neither were original, minor mods but not original....
I can't imagine anyone liking my sail panel before repair, black seems worse than other colors,
the limited photography skills I have do not show the vast improvement in appearance...
plus whoever owns the car in the future will not have to pay for that to be done...

I chose to reveal what I thought were issues with the car and let everyone know when the ABS
lit up and what I did to repair it, just like to be honest with everyone....

I never asked $26K for the car and I'm sorry if I implied that, just the insurance 'agreed value'
with a classic company to protect me for the reasons listed earlier, parts just keep going up on
here IF they can even be found......

again, $18000 won't get it but there is a number between that and $20k that will and all that
goes with it,I may be little on the high side but I'm open to offers.....we're getting closer,
it's just a nice southern car with a sail panel repair with no real issues, almost original....

Thanks to those that have made inquiries, the phone is the same!!
I will continue to check in here periodically also....

Firebrian, enjoy 'horse trading' with ya, 'Preciate ya!!!!!

Beauty of a horse & I'm not a horse guy. If you can afford it, be patient. A buyer will come along, eventually. Stand firm on your asking price. I am gonna direct someone to stop by here & look, as she is looking to buy. Best of luck to ya.

Thanks, 02 red hawk!!
He IS a goodun! Breeding fees generate income.....
We have 3 of our brood mares safe in foal with 3 more to
breed in the spring, can't wait to see the babies!!!!
First one is due in May if all goes well....

I have lots of patience, a necessary trait in the horse business,
11 month gestation then another 2 years to see what the colts
do 'under saddle' so no real rush on the Hawk!!!

'Preciate yer comment, help & reference!!
