The car is still in storage. I will take it out soon and have it appraised at the Volo Auto Museum. Once I do I will post with photos and a price.

I believe the car did not come with the WU6 code. Maybe the owner or maybe even the original owner "Camino LS6" will chime in.

IMO if it didn't come with the WU6 (and in turn doenst have a SLP number) then its NOT a Firehawk...its a Formula with left over Firehawk parts added to it (I don't care who added them.) Lets wait for an answer and a pic of the RPO code before having that discussion though.

This car has been verified by the Fire Association of America. Yes it was previously El Camino LS6.

So, I have a 2002, #706. I have seen some specs saying #706 of 1501, and some say #706 of 1503. How to tell which figure is accurate?[

Sorry but if it doesn't have the RPO code WU6 it is NOT a real Firehawk. It's a formula with Firehawk parts added to it. There is no way you can make the claim it's a real Firehawk if it wasn't born a Firehawk....I don't care who added the parts. Period. The last Firehawk was #1501 because it was the last one with the RPO code WU6.

If a non Firehawk can have parts added to it and made a Firehawk what's to keep them from making #1506 or 1507 next week? I have a CETA with less than a 100 miles on it...can I send it to Dave and have him make it a real Firehawk? The last Firehawk and only CETA!!! Wow I would be rich. And yes it's the exact same thing.

By this logic, the following cars are not real Firehawks:

Code: Select all

All LT4 1997 Firehawk are not R6V cars
All 1994 Pilot cars are not R6V cars
One 1994 Firehawk SC was not a R6V car
Two 1994 Anniversary Firehawks are not R6V cars
All 1998/1999 Pilot cars are not WU6 Firehawks
All 2009 Firehawks, no RPO codes
I seem to remember one of the 1991/1992 didn't have the RPO code either.

There is a difference between taking parts second hand and building a car and having SLP build the car.

IIRC there are a few 92 Hawks without the RPO code and there are 2 formulas out there that do have the RPO code but didn't get converted..
What would happen if they were found and fully converted??
Always looking for SLP/Firehawk parts for 3rdgen birds.
PM me.

I did a bunch of research before purchasing this car in 2007. I have a Firehawk Certificate of Birth, Firehawk Alteration Invoice from SLP, Original Bill of Lading. Most important is a copy of an email from Reg Harris SLP Engineering manager to the original owner "Camino LS6" confirming it's authenticity as the VERY LAST FIREHAWK. This car also has been autographed on the strut housing by Edward Hambuger, President SLP, Reg Harris Manager SLP as well as others acknowledging the 11/25/02 build date at SLP.

I have posted a link to view pictures of the vehicle plus the supporting documents authenticating my Firehawk as the very last.

I look forward to your comments.
