Replacement Bilstein Shocks
Hey, My 2002 Firehawk (#0808) makes some noises like the shocks, or shock plate is busted. There seems to be a couple of different Bilstein shocks out there. Can someone assist me in buying the correct replacement shocks (part number)? I want to replace the entire shock assembly. Front and back. Plus it would be nice if I could raise the car up an inch. I'm not sure that is possible. It bottoms out going over practically anything. Thanks!!!!!
Re: Replacement Bilstein Shocks
SLP website has part #70002 as the correct ones.
It states: "This new package combines our #70008 Bilstein shocks and #70009 Eibach springs to create The Ultimate Dual-Purpose Suspension Upgrade for 1993-2002 F-Bodies. Custom designed to SLP's specifications by their respective manufacturers, these pieces fuse race-quality responsiveness at the track with a firm but comfortable ride in everyday use. Best of all, you'll save more than $20 over the cost of buying the parts individually. "
Are these what you recommend? Thanks!!

Re: Replacement Bilstein Shocks
I installed the SLP SLP #70002 set with the #70008 shocks and #70009 springs on my FIrehawk last year. The car sits slightly lower than stock, probably just 0.25" lower. I have no problems with bottoming out on regular roads and my car clears speed bumps with no problem.
The set is as close as you can get to a replacement set for the bilstein suspension upgrade. The springs are not the same as what was used originally and it is not known if the shocks are re-valved. There is no answer to the question if there is any difference between the Bilsteins HD and SLP Bilstein's. Rousch purchased SLP a few years back and it is not known if they still re-valve the front bilstein shocks.

Re: Replacement Bilstein Shocks
I was wondering the same thing as I plan to keep my car long term. the_dragon did you have the bilstein package originally installed on your car and it is even lower with the replacements? My original eibach springs are blue(2002 w/bilstein package)
I thought about ordering a set of springs and shocks for back up down the road should I need them.
Does Bilstein rebuild these shocks? At one time I saw they could rebuild and restore some of their shocks.
Any further insight would be great.
Thanks
Justin

The OEM Bilstein's are not rebuildable. Only ones that are , are their high end racing serieses . if you open to other options there are other manufacturers who have suspension kits. When I get a Hawk again I'm going adjustable

Re: Replacement Bilstein Shocks
I got all of my suspension parts from Strano parts, bilstiens, springs, sway bars, couldn't be happier with the way it looks and handles. The sp41 springs do set it lower but not as much as eibach.

Same here from Strano except for the shocks. I went with Konis.
Re: Replacement Bilstein Shocks
Thanks guys. My car is completely stock and I'm wanting to preserve the originality so my focus would be to have them look like the SLP installed bilsteins and function as designed with the Eibach springs.

Re: Replacement Bilstein Shocks
what is the difference between the "level 2" suspension the only goes up to 2000 model vs the Bilstein package model #70002?
