Help Pricing my 95 Hawk
Unfortunately when the weather breaks here in Michigan, I'll be putting my Firehawk up for sale. I know I'll never get back what I put into it, but just looking for opinions on what would be a fair asking price. Thanks in advance for any input
The car is not all original, and I think I am the 4th owner. The car is mechanically near perfect. The radio crackles if you turn it up too high. That was going to be replaced if I were to keep the car. I have a new bezel for a din and a 1/2 radio
I'm not a "gear head" so I don't know all the specifics, but it's registered here - http://www.firehawkregistry.com/car/1912.html
Here is what I do know -
- 1995 #244 Formula Firehawk
- 36,000 original miles
- Vortech Super Charger
- Crane HI STR Timing Control (under the steering column)
- 425 HP (that's what I was told when I bought it)
Things I changed -
- Custom Leather Interior - with custom Trophy Mat
- Changed to the Honeycomb Tail lights
- Decals were changed to red with a yellow tidle
- Added a few red details (front hawk on the nose, speaker grills.... etc)
Extras -
- I have some extra decals, and speaker grills
- Brake caliper covers (red)
- Custom Car Cover
- T-Top shades
The negatives -
- As mentioned above the radio needs repair or replacement
- I would consider this a "10 footer" any closer and you can see the swirls in the paint

Re: Help Pricing my 95 Hawk
Here's my skinny... Much like my old turbochargered 95#584. It's been modified so collectors more then likely won't buy it. Your target audience is going to be someone young who probably doesn't care that it's a firehawk and only interested in having a fast car. Find the right kid, maybe $6-$8k(?) . .. I gift wrapped mine to the lowest bidder for $5k .. post it on Ls1tech.com . Good luck

Wow $5K seems like you gave it away.
What kind of shape was yours in? How many miles? Did you see mine only has 36,000?

Re: Help Pricing my 95 Hawk
For 162k miles of distant memories on the odometer when I sold it I would say the paint and Interior looked pretty darn good. Front bumper had mild to moderate spider web cracking. Lower door and side skirts from lots of miles of rock wash.. driver seat beaten up. It was a good car. I was just in a jam and it was hard to sell in California with zero emissions. I kept it cleaned, washed and waxed with P&S Sales Blaze Glaze speed wax

I would have to agree with BLACK-HAWK.
There is a nice modified WS6 with similar mods to you for sale near me that has been for sale for a while for 9k.
Part of that is that it is also an LT1 car, and for now they seem to have lost their flavor to the LS market.
To probably get the most cash out of it possible, you would probably be better to remove the supercharger and sell it separate. My opinion is that it won't add any real value to the resale of the car. Unless you get lucky and find the right buyer. Then all bets are off.
Good luck if you decide to sell.

Re: Help Pricing my 95 Hawk
Do you know the history of the supercharger build? Has anything been done to the engine? It might need a retune And do you have the OEM Firehawk airbox? I'm with Tazman. If you can get rid of the timing controller and supercharger you might be able to squeeze alittle more out of someone who is looking for a low'ish mile lt1 firehawk .

Re: Help Pricing my 95 Hawk
I agree with the above. The bigger dollar Hawks are going to be the originals. The low mileage won't help you with that S/C on there. Best bet would be take it back to stock if you can and sell the car and supercharger kit separately. You might get $7-8K as is unless you happen to cross paths with someone looking for exactly what you have. Once they are modded, they are a tough sell.

Re: Help Pricing my 95 Hawk
There is one thing I see that is more desirable then the firehawk specific airbox, the TOTL muffler! Get some Nevr Dull Polish , some rubber gloves and alot of rags.. put in alot of elbow grease and get those pipes shining!!!! Huge desirability factor!

Re: Help Pricing my 95 Hawk
If the car was stock with relatively low miles, the asking prices average $14,000. Hard to price in your modifications.

Re: Help Pricing my 95 Hawk
I don't know the history of the Supercharger. When I bought it, it was already installed.
Thanks for all the input. I was thinking in the $10K - $12K range.
I listed it a few years ago on eBay with a reserve, and it got to $11K not meeting the reserve.
I never understood the "collector" mentality when it comes to a Firehawk. They built way too many of them. And the "original" being King is also odd. When I see photo's of the Rally's, all the cars look the same. Where's the fun in that? Maybe it's just me
Thanks again

Re: Help Pricing my 95 Hawk
You say way too many Hawks were built, but to help put things into perspective, consider these facts: One of the most sought after T/As right now is the 77 S/E "Bandit", there were over 15,000 built, and the rarest are the 4speed hardtops at 384 built (1,861 total hardtops). Total Firehawk production from 91-02 and then 09 G8 is a bit over 5k, so yeah there are certainly more rare cars out there, but I wouldn't say Hawks are very common either. There is never a guarantee that any old car will become collectible, but certain types generally do become collectors items later on in years, and I think Hawks ultimately will too. That being said, unmolested cars will almost always demand the highest prices, and the 91-92 will always be the MOST sought after for obvious reasons to any serious collector. Just my .02 worth.
