The pcm kicks the A/C off under specific conditions... I believe that would be one of those conditions.

Where can I get more details on the specific conditions at which the Power-train Control Module "kicks off" the A/C?

WOT and too high pressure on the A/C high side line... Maybe other parameters but that is what comes to mind... so seriously, how does this come into play at all?

My potential buyer asked the question. He would like to do some racing with the Hawk. While he may not sustain these speeds for long periods of time, he may reach this and other "circumstances" frequently, making for a long hot day. I believe the intent of the question was to understand if there were over-riding controls in the 2002 TA which would disengage the AC under certain circumstances. I mentioned that some of my other racing friends use the cooling suits, which he acknowledged as an option but also shrugged at the additional equipment he would have to lug around.

What is "WOT"?

He's in his late 40's and wants to slowly/methodically get into racing. He is looking for a stock car and knows that it is more about the handling than the horse power, so he does not plan to rape it with mods. My impression is that he wants to use it like it was intended to be used, and have fun with it. I think it's a better future for my car than sitting covered in my garage and getting the monthly detailing.

Meanwhile, back at the topic...any other specific "conditions" people know of that would shut down the A/C?

Here is the link to the road racing he is getting involved in. He was navigator for his brother this year.

It looks like fun to me.

When is 150mph air from the air ducts not enough?
I don't recall any problem at 150, but I haven't done it over 90 degrees ambient temp.
